Question by : How much should I charge per ad view?
I am going to start an online service which will host content for it’s users. To fund this site, I am going to rely on advertisers. At 1/10 cent per view, 1000 views would earn me $ 1.00. At 1 cent per view, 1000 views would earn me $ 10.00. 1000 for 10 sounds high to me and 1000 for 1 sounds REALLY low to me. What’s a good price to charge for my advertisers?

Just join an ad network that pays you to display ads they provide, it’s a lot easier for moderate site operators. CPM is the standard term for per 1000 impression ads, prices might range from 10 cents for a popup on a file sharing site to $ 2 – $ 10 for keyword targeted search engines results ads, depending on the competitiveness of the keyword.
If you signed up for an Adwords account you could see the estimated cost for various keywords in the keyword tool. Likewise you could collect data from a Facebook advertising account, where impressions cost perhaps 1/10 that of Google Adwords, due to the less targeted Facebook audience.
