Question by RightwingJedi: Do I have to pay monthly for internet on the Apple iPad?
We want an iPad and just want to use the wi-fi with our home wireless internet. Are there any forced monthly fees we will have to pay with the iPad?
Also, can I access the internet free anywhere there is Wi-Fi with the iPad?

No, here’s how it works:
WI-FI
All iPads have Wi-Fi built in, and this is free to use anytime, anywhere with access.
3G
Some iPads have 3G built in. This you have to pay for, if you want to use it. You can sign up with AT&T with either a 250MB/month plan for $ 15/month, or unlimited data transfer for $ 30/month. There are no “forced fees” except what is required by AT&T for 3G plans, but there is no contract, so you can change or cancel any plan at anytime, even right from your iPad. Just go to Settings and it’s in there somewhere.
