Question by : Can companies offer free things for filling out a survey but not give anything away?
My question is, is it legal for a company to say “fill out this survey and be entered into this drawing to win a free ___!” (iPad, software subscription, etc.) but then never actually give anything away or even have the drawing?

No, but the scammers and spammers who populate sites like Yahoo Answers do it anyway.

The LEGITIMATE companies whose name they use actually have nothing to do with the surveys. When you see an ad that says you can win a $ 500 Target gift card — it is *not* Target you are dealing with.

Hey I was watching the apple news conference yesterday and it said something about how some websites have a “test and keep” ipad 3 offer available.

I kno some people at school were talking about how they found a few of the sites but they didnt want to tell anybody because they wanted all of the ipads for themselves (I think its 1 per person tho).

Has anybody found these free ipad3 websites yet? obviously i don’t want to hear about your stupid scams or survey sites so go away!!!

Hey Anon53. The only one I’ve heard about that has been ‘discovered’ so far is freeipad2cases.com

The free iPad 3 offer is right there on the front page, but I don’t know how long it will stay up for. I keep checking Twitter for more info about these sites so I’ll update this question when I hear about the next free websites.

To get your free iPad you will need to create a free account using the link on the website, complete one free offer, and then get 22 other people to create an account and complete an offer too using your referral link. There’s plenty of free offers to choose from but the best are the Equifax credit score free trial and the Intuit website free trial. Good luck!
